Common Questions
&
Other Things You Need To Know
Q: How do I schedule an appointment?
A: Scheduling is simple! Just call or text 818-378-7642 or use the online formto request days and times that work best for you. We will reply to confirm or suggest alternatives which may also work.
Q: What is your cancellation/return policy?
A: We require at least 24 hours advance notice of cancelling or rescheduling your appointment out of consideration for our acupuncturist and patients desiring appointments. Late cancellations or no-shows may be charged up to 100% of the service fee. We understand life can be unpredictable so you may call, text, or email us at any time, even after hours.
All products are non-refundable, so we encourage you to review your selections carefully before making your purchase. The balance of a protocol commitment for unused services may be refunded under approved circumstances and only after charging the used services at the a la carte rate.
Q: What if I'm late or miss my appointment?
A: Arriving late will shorten your treatment time but not necessarily your experience. Oftentimes we are able to provide thorough treatments in shorter time frames without always reducing modalities or finishing touches (for example bodywork or face mask/LED depending on your service). If you are over 15 minutes late, a treatment can still be administered but most likely without additional modalities or finishing touches. No-shows, cancellations with fewer than 24 hours notice, and arrivals later than 15 minutes, will incur the full service fee.
Q: Do you treat children?
A: All of our services can be catered to everyone, from pediatric to geriatric. Please call to discuss age-appropriate options. Minors require parental consent.
Q: What if I hate needles?
A: No problem! Whether you're needle-phobic or just not sure yet how you feel about acupuncture or microneedling, we have several non-needle options that allow everyone to experience the same benefits. Please let us know if you are interested in these other techniques and know that they are also great for infants, children, the elderly, or anyone who may be sensitive.
Microneedling Before Care:
Please avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanning products for at least 48 hours prior to your treatment. Discontinue retinoids, exfoliating acids, and other potentially irritating skincare products 3–5 days before your appointment unless otherwise directed by your provider. Arrive with clean skin free of makeup, lotions, or sunscreen, if possible. If you have an active skin infection, irritation, or open wounds in the treatment area, please contact us prior to your appointment and inform our acupuncturist.
Microneedling After Care:
After treatment, your skin may appear red and feel warm or sensitive for 24–48 hours, similar to a mild sunburn. Avoid direct sun exposure, strenuous exercise, saunas, and swimming pools during this time. Use gentle skincare products and apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect the treated area. Avoid retinoids, exfoliants, and other active ingredients until your provider advises it is appropriate to resume your normal routine.
Photobiomodulation Therapy (LED, Laser, etc.):
Protective eyewear is required and provided for your safety and comfort. If you have a light sensitivity, are taking photosensitizing medications, or have a medical condition that may be affected by light exposure, please consult with your primary healthcare provider or specialist prior to your treatment and inform our acupuncturist.
Insurance
We are not currently in-network with any insurance provider, and payment is due when services are rendered. We can, however, provide a Superbill (an itemized bill which has the particular information necessary to process your claim) if your insurance has out-of-network benefits for acupuncture, so you can submit it for reimbursement.
Health Savings Account (HSA)/Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
Acupuncture qualifies as an approved medical procedure for all HS/FS accounts. You may use your HSA/FSA debit card (subject to processing fee as explained below) for payment or avoid the fees by receiving a Superbill you can submit for reimbursement whether the service is purchased a la carte or as part of a package.
HSA/FSAs may cover microneedling for certain medical conditions such as severe acne, scarring, melasma, vitiligo, or alopecia or with a Letter of Medical Necessity or prescription from your primary care provider.
Acceptable forms of payment
You may pay directly with cash, domestic bank check, or Zelle and not incur any additional fees.
You may pay with credit/debit/HSA/FSA cards and Venmo and pay the processing fees for your transaction which ranges from 2.5%-3.5% plus 5¢-30¢. You will be notified of the exact amount at the time of purchase.
You may also lower your out-of-pocket cost on the day of your appointment by setting up a payment plan through Affirm.
More details on payment processing forthcoming. Thank you for your patience.
